H to the Moon: The ride

The first two days on the ship were just traveling towards the Bahamas. So mostly we hung around, go some sun and relaxed. It was swell. We discovered the benefits of having free room service as your alarm clock...
We got gussied up for Cruise Elegant night...
The following day we celebrated my 23rd Birthday. We went to the uber fancy restaurant on this ship and were well taken care of...
Happy Birthday to me! woot woot!
Nothing too exciting really. But then we got to the Bahamas... stay tuned for more adventures!

H to the Moon: the beginning

For the honeymoon, Dan and I went on an 8-day cruise to the Bahamas. Basically, it was amazing. On Sunday afternoon, we headed down to Chelsea and began boarding the boat. I couldn’t believe how nice everyone was the entire way through. Even at the check-in counter, (where people usually seem a bit frazzled and annoyed with customers) they were incredibly nice, addressing us by name and congratulating us on being on our first cruise. It made me feel all fancy which is a thing any girl who ever played princess as a child enjoys.

Then we got on board. I was in complete shock. We were waited on hand and foot. Everyone was so happy and nice and not snobby at all. It was excellent. When we finally got to our room we saw that our travel agent had ordered a “Happy Honeymoon” cake to be delivered to our room. Tender times were about to be had : )

We wandered around the boat all day exploring and watched as New York City slipped away for the next 8 days. That night we went to dinner and found ourselves placed at a table with two other 20 something couples. One couple was as NYC Italian as they get and the other were quintessential East Coast Jews (yes the husband is a jeweler). We know whoever made the seating arrangements were laughing at this joke of a table. “Okay, so there was a Jewish couple, an Italian couple and a Mormon couple sitting around a table…” We laughed our heads off every single night.

We went to the Welcoming show, full of pizzazz, dancers, jokers, (bad) singers, etc, etc… Afterwards, we collapsed on the bed and attempted to eat our “Happy Honeymoon” cake. We dug in our forks and discovered a layer of pink marring the nice white cake. As we tasted our first bite, we learned exactly what pink would taste like if it were a flavor, (it is not good by the way, no matter how much you love pink, nobody would like this) and promptly placed the dish on the floor outside the room to be picked up by the cleaning fairies.

And when I realized the cleaning fairies would be visiting at least twice a day and that Dan couldn’t complain about my hair clogging up the bathtub (because the cleaning fairies took care of that, that’s for dang sure!) I knew I was going to have a splendid time.

Sequoia National Park

Today Dan and I went to Kings Canyon National Park/Sequoia National Park. Dan wanted to see the oldest living organism or is it the biggest? Not sure, but Dan thought it was a big deal so away we went : )
Big-A fallen tree...
The General Grant Tree, we thought it was huge...
Then we went and saw the General Sherman tree... which appeared to be impossible to fit into the entire screen.
Us..
Oh trees....

And the wedding is 3 days away...  : )

My boy is back in town...

Quick weekend update...

Annual 4th of July celebration at the Church Casa. We brought yummy patriotic cupcakes!
MY BOO ARRIVED! After not seeing each other for a month, Mr. Dan Thomson graced us with his presence. His flight got in at 9pm so we missed all of the fireworks (but we made our own in front of everyone at the airport : ) Daddio saved us some delightful sparklers...
On Sunday we continued our kissing spree (what else are you supposed to do after not seeing each other for a month leading up to marriage?)
Husked some corn...
And today? We got our MARRIAGE LICENSE! eeeee! So now we can get married whenever we want, which will be on Saturday July 11, 2009 : ) Good times are happening and super good times are a comin!
