Well I was finally able to download one picture from Monday. Central Park is so incredibly green and lush in spring and summer! I had forgotten how green it gets. It was nice to go walking around in the beautiful weather : )

more to come later... maybe!

Happy Momma's Day!

Love this woman.

She's my momma.
I look ridiculously a lot like her.
She's my family bff (not to be confused with my NYC bff Julie Mack-a-doodle or my eternal lover bff Danny Boy. A girl can't have too many different kinds of bff's!)
She's funny.
She's straight up herself no matter what. (Wish I could be more like that)
We are fused.
(and we're okay with that... usually ; )
She'll be here to play in less than a week!

Hooray for MOM's!!! (especially mine cause she raised me and I'm pretty satisfied with how I've turned out : )

Musings

1. I found out this weekend that Dan's home teacher (who we have game nights with him and his wife) can solve a Rubik's cube. I have never actually met anyone who could solve a Rubik's cube right in front of me. I was speachless.

2. We got a free futon from the Barney's as well! Which is wonderful because we're seriously lacking in the furniture department right now.

3. Dan has moved into our apartment!!! This means that he's living a mere 10 minute walk from where I live now. It's fantastic to be able to see him so much! hoooray!

4. I finished my interview with the Stake President and I am good to go through the temple in two weeks. I am so excited!

5. Big Changes. Today is my last day of class ever. Unless I ever go back to get my PhD (which isn't happening until I pay of Columbia... which will be a while). And tomorrow is my last day at my internship. This all means that I have to grow up soon. Like now! I'm a bit freaked out by this. I'm avoiding looking for a job or doing anything until after the wedding, but ... I look at all of my friends and classmates and I wonder how in the world am I going to do this! I'm getting a little bit stressed because as Dan put it, "you know how to be a student, but not how to be a professional yet." Plus I'm getting married in about two months and I don't really know how to be wife either. So let's hope I can figure out how to do something with this new found life of mine! Loooooooots of change, that's for dang sure.

random pictures that were on my camera

my new "hood" well one building... which is a few blocks over, but it's all the same really!
you know you have an awesome future mom-in-law when you have fresh flowers or chocolate or some little treat each weekend you go visit (and I presently visit every single weekend).
SPRING is here!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!

I have some more musings about the weekend. Here are some titillating hints: rubik's cube, free futon, moving, temple, and big changes. Let those float around a bit and I'll disclose more fully tomorrow! : ) Hope y'all had a good weekend.

Subway Story

photo from here
So the other day I got on the subway and there was an ancient looking couple sitting together. He was dozing, she was reading a book. I started thinking up their life story . . .

Meet Mr. and Mrs. Horowitz. They moved to New York City in 1967 from Russia. They have lived in the same 3rd floor walk up since 1986. They have 3 girls and 2 boys. Two girls live in NYC still and have 5 children between them. There is family dinner at Bube and Zeidy's house once a month on Saturday night after Temple. He was a college professor and she volunteered at the library. They both love reading and traveling. They've been together for so long, they can have a whole conversation with each other just with their eyes. They love each other more than they ever did on their wedding day.

Well at least that's what I think.
