So last night, dan and I went to dinner with some of his friends. No big deal.
We came home on the subway. No big deal.
I was slightly addicted to the above pictured book. No big deal. I'm a book worm and becoming addicted isn't something strange for me.
As we were walking out of the subway I was reading the book. Climb the first set of stairs. No big deal.
Get in the elevator. No big deal.
Climb the second set of stairs. No big deal.
Walk out of the subway and miss the one tiny step? Big deal!
I rolled my ankle and for some reason my body decided it wanted to faint. So the dizziness commenced, the blurred vision, the roaring in the ears, the inability to support myself. The cold sweats as my blood pressure dropped and I collapsed onto dan.
I did try to warn him. He tried. But I just needed to lay down on the nasty New York sidewalk. And the crowd gathered. Apparently my skirt was bunched up into all sorts of indecent-ness. I heard a lady yell "give her some decency for goodness sake!" before my skirt was pulled down a bit.
There's some good in New York!
Then since the ER was about 10 steps away of course a wheel chair man came out and escorted me back and I tried to calm the adrenaline and embarrassment coursing through my body.
Then we sat. And sat. And sat some more. My butt was numb but you know what?
I finished my book : )
Abbie! Who has the next one? I need it!

I have it if you need it...which you do need it! I just don't know if your body can handle it! I have fainted one time in my life. After a knee surgery and yeah...no one is ready for that! Let me know if you want to meet up for a book exchange.
That is crazy! Oh my, I'm so glad you're okay. What a great story to add to the many NY adventures you've had. Yeah, Leslie has a copy and Tamara has my copy. I know, these books. I didn't sleep for three nights.
Aww crazy story! I am glad you are alright and that you finished the book!!
#1) I love you because I can totally picture you loving an ER visit as a reading fest. It made me chuckle. :)
#2) (Since this is the first time I've read your blog in a couple of weeks.) Congratulations on being an LMSW! So proud, and I love you!
Hahaha, I'm so sorry that happened to you!
I'm glad recommended that book (though I don't know if it was my recommendation that made you read it haha) - I told you they're addicting!
I read the first two within 24 hours in Mexico - read one from 8am to 3pm and then one from 3pm to 10pm. They're so good! If I could send you my copy of Catching Fire, I would - it's amazing! I also have a pdf on my computer, but I don't think you'll want to read that book via computer screen. Let me know if you want it, though!
I have read while walking many times, and it is indeed very hazardous. The Hunger Games is on my reading list. I've heard it's excellent!
