Chicago Girls weekend

A couple of weekends ago the Ashlies and I met up in Chicago and enjoyed a weekend away from our normal cities. I started the weekend out by having an early morning run on Saturday. The city was gorgeous without anyone wandering around.
That morning we met up with two of my college roomies who live in Chicago now, Rachel and Katie. It was so fun to catch up and the breakfast place we went was so good that we went back the next day. YUM!
While we were in Chicago, our husbands went to the BYU vs. Notre Dame game. They were very very happy to enjoy some football, but not so happy with the ending.
The subway system is very different from the NYC or Boston one. It's all above ground and the stations are wooden. Which is a bit freaky as they're old and the weather gets real bad in Chicago in the winter. It would be very chilly to stand outside waiting for the train.
We of course saw the Bean. It was very very shiny

Fall colors were in full force!
Nice skyline... but it's not NYC : )
We walked down the Majestic Mile which is like their 5th Ave. Then we wandered over to the Navy Pier. Where we sat for a bit and rested before our two mile trek to the pizza place.

We enjoyed some deep dish pizza. It was delicious!
After pizza, we went back to the hotel and were snuggled into our beds watching TV by 6pm. It was very nice after an extremely long day of walking around. I think we walked about 5-6 miles!

The next day, we went to the Art Institute of Chicago. It was very big and very confusing. It's made up of multiple buildings so you have to go down and up stairs to get to different areas of the same floor.
Then we rushed to the airport and split ways again. It was a wonderful relaxing weekend with the girls!
