The Met

This last Saturday, Dan and I went to the Met with Julie, Zaneta, and another Dan. The other Dan through his connections was able to get us all free lunch at the cafeteria there. This is amazing because the food there is outrageously priced and it made us feel like we were on the cruise again, loading up whatever we wanted...
Not a good pic of Dan but it demonstrates a little bit of how much we piled on!
Then we toured the Met of course. Julie made friends with the voodoo doctor.
Dan and I shared some tender times in front of the Egyptian Temple.
Dan felt for the poor knight with only a bit of chain mail to protect his manhood.
We wandered around and made fun of modern art....
Except Jackson Pollock because who doesn't love Jackson Pollock?
Dan held staring contests with various unwilling (and unknowing) victims.
I felt bad for the dignity some statues had lost.
We were pretty tired by the end of it all!

Sometimes I get really annoyed with living in the NYC. Shopping is a nightmare, prices are outrageous, public transportation is most frequently not all that it's cracked up to be, and it flipping hot and humid right now! But then I get to go some place like the Met for the day and I remember that this is one of the most amazing cities in the world and it does have it's good points. : )

You live such a culturally enriched life! Our cultural activites this summer were limited to lagoon, a rodeo, and a fourth of july parad. Oh Utah!

Good times, indeed.
