Jam thumb print cookies

For our wedding my grandad and Marci gave us a better homes and garden newlywed cook book. I hadn't looked at it in a little while and while trying to not make another variation of chocolate chip cookies I found these. Very simple ingredients that you'll probably have on hand.
Once you've chilled the dough and then made little balls, you dunk them in eggs whites and coat them in finely chopped walnuts. Or not, I made some without the walnuts and they're good too.
Put them on you're sheet and then stick your thumb in them! Kinda fulfills all those childhood desires of sticking your fingers into things you shouldn't.

Let them cool completely and then drop a little bit of jam in your thumb print. I had blackberry and peach.

Yummy!

Conference weekend

This weekend was the LDS General Conference. Here are my favorite things about it:

Cuddling up with my pup and my hombre whilst (why don't we use that word more? Cause it's awesome) listening to the talks.
Going out for sushi and girl time during the priesthood session. A trip to MAC was made and new cute pink lipstick was secured.
Making crock pot steal cut oats. I hate oatmeal but love overnight crock pot steal cut oats. Nice an easy but something different than a typical Sunday breakfast.
ummm no pic cause we were enjoying it and ate too fast...

Making jam thumb print cookies. I was getting a bit tired of chocolate chip variations so these were made! They're yummy. More info later

Walking around our little neighborhood under surprisingly blue skies in between conference sessions. Should have taken pics but we were enjoying ourselves too much!

And listening/watching conference of course! Lots of talks about faith and welfare. Makes me a little nervous about what may be coming to try my faith, but you can develop your faith even without something horrible happening, so maybe I can go that route. I've also been thinking a lot about helping others more. I'm not sure how I'll do this since I feel like my schedule is pretty full already but we shall see...

It was a good weekend, how was yours?
