Ashley's Baby Shower

A couple of weekends ago, my friends Ashley H. and Megan and I threw a shower for our friend Ashley S. who is having a girl in just a few short weeks. The theme was ombre pink and grey hearts. Ashley S. has a cricut and let me hang out with her and cut out what felt like a hundred hearts and then sew them into chains.

I think they turned out pretty cute.

I was able to print out this cute Love print from a printables suite online.

Lots of friends came over and we enjoyed chowing on some fancy grilled cheese sandwiches, tortellini soup, goat cheese salad and some delicious cookies and cupcakes for dessert.
And here are the hostesses! So much fun to plan things with them and split up the work. Thanks girls!
Congrats Ashley! I can't wait to love on your little girl!

2013

2013

I'm pretty sure you're going to rock our world. What with having a baby and all. We're excited, scared, happy, nervous, and full of anticipation for everything that is coming our way. Let's do this 2013.

Preping for Christmas 2012

This year we stayed in NYC for the holidays. It was nice and relaxing, but I struggled a bit to get into the "holiday spirit." So we did some things to set the mood.

We made gingerbread houses with our friends. Please note the "accident" our snowman had outside...
Then of course we went and saw the Rockefeller tree and walked the windows on 5th Ave.
Bergdorf Goodman always, always, always has the best windows. I loved the sneaky action going on with Santa in the red window...
We got our tree all set up
Saw the Bryant Park tree with friends and went again to see Rockefeller. Yes, Dan has on a mustache and yes I made him shave it.
We got festive for our ward's Christmas Sunday, and spent Christmas eve being seranaded by beautiful music at Riverside Church's program.
Dan let me open this year's ornament on Christmas Eve so I could enjoy it a little longer. Can you guess who the girlie tutu represents?
It wasn't quite the same without going home, but we get to relax and start/continue our own traditions.
