When we arrived in Athens, we attempted to continue to stay up as long as possible. We went to walk around the Acropolis but found it was already closed. So we sat around and admired the view and the endless stray dogs.
We shopped around the market for a bit after dinner.
The next day, we slept in wonderfully late (last time we slept in past 6:30am). And then we went to the Acropolis and wandered around while listening to a Rick Steve's podcast. It was free and made the experience so much more enjoyable.

Then we did a city walk again guided by the Rick Steve's podcast. It was perfect! We started at the Parliament building and it told us where to walk and kept perfect time with a casual pace.
In front of the Parliament building they have their tomb of the unknown soldier.
Of course there are guards in front wearing traditional uniforms.
The temple of Zeus
Good ole Rick guided us to a little neighborhood just below the Acropolis that looks like a mini Santorini. Gorgeous!
Rick just said "keep going along the streets no matter how narrow they get!"
So much fun!

Wow--this trip looks so amazing! And you are wearing such great outfits. I always seem to frump it up on major sightseeing trips, so I'm incredibly jealous of your fabulousness. So glad you are back to blogging! I love checking in and seeing what you two have been up to.
What an awesome trip! Can't wait to hear more about it! Love the pictures.
