Rachel's visit

Last weekend my wonderful amiga Rachel came down from RI to visit Dan and I last weekend. We realized that we hadn't seen each other since the reception in September, so we were definitely due for a visit.

We'd just had the big snow storm that Thursday and Friday morning so I was hoping her bus would actually make it. She made it early! Nobody was on the roads thinking they were still horrible, which ended up being great for her. Saturday we went and saw a movie, and then went to the Peanut Butter shop. I thought Rachel would enjoy it as I know she adores her peanut butter.
The shop was crowded so went went and ate on the one park bench in Washington Square park that wasn't covered in snow. Rachel with the yummy pb&j. We also had a pb and nutella sandwich (which is what our Senora in Spain would pack in our lunches for dessert. yum!).

Saturday was a wander around the city and just generally spend time together kind of day, which is exactly what I needed. That night we all tried out a restaurant in Inwood next to our church building. It's called Mamasushi and they serve sushi with a Dominican twist. It's not the best sushi, the rice has little flavor and I never use dipping sauces on my sushi but I used a lot with this stuff. However, it was fun, it's a cute little place and the sushi was different. One of the rolls had plantains on top and salami inside, so just that little Dominican twist which makes it more interesting. The thing that might bring Dan and I back is that Monday-Wednesday during happy hour it's $22 for unlimited sushi. That might just make it worth it!

It was a nice visit with my Raquelita. I forget sometimes how nice it is to spend time with someone who's known you for so long and knows how ridiculous you are and still loves you : ) Thanks for coming and playing with us Rachel! We love you!
