This my friends is General Tso's Chicken. You know what's so special about this General Tso's chicken? I MADE it!!!!!! It totally looks like take out chinese right? And it totally tasted like take out chinese! The
recipe is fairly easy, and doesn't require any super random ingredients. That's why I decided to try it out. It takes a while, but I think with practice, it won't be as time consuming. And I think I could prep the sauce in the morning or the night before and then reheat it to cut down on time. FYI, 2 tsp of chili peppers is waaaay too spicy for me. I did 1.5 tsp and it was still too spicy for me but perfect for Mr. Thomson. So watch out. Anyways, I know there have been a lot of food posts this week, but I've been really proud of what I've been making!
The other night Dan said, "you fooled me! I was pretty resigned to the fact that you weren't a big cooking person and I was just going to have pb&j's for the rest of my life. But now look at you! Cooking up a storm!" According to him he'd be on campus at BYU studying til late and I'd bribe him to come over with dinner ready and when he'd show up there'd be two pb&j's and a tall glass of milk waiting for him (I'd like to declare however, that my peanut butter to jelly ratio is really excellent). I had to make sure he loved me for me first and then the cooking!*
*I actually didn't like to cook until we got married... so he did just get lucky : )

The other night as we were eating dinner out, Dad was going on about your latest food blogs and how you're cooking all the time and said he wished I cooked. Well! I had to remind him of all the YEARS I was cooking for the family and just in recent times have I decided to forgo cooking every night. He pondered on that for a moment and said he thought he remembered me cooking, but then said he needed to talk to you to confirm it! I told him he's welcome to start up cooking any time lol! Good thing you're blogging this, so years from now when Dan doesn't remember all the cooking you're doing, you can remind him. Nice stuff you're doing chica!
You and your cooking inspire me. Let's hang out and bake together sometime, k? :)
